Measure A passes with 94% voting Yes

This past Tuesday, March 2nd, 2021 those on the Choice Blocks (Wiseburn area between 138th and 142nd street) voted with a resounding Yes (over 94%) to join the Wiseburn Unified School District (WUSD).  For those interested in the official results, please see the County Registrar’s page at Election Results (lavote.net)
More details on the history and the effort behind this are on the Wiseburn Residents for Wiseburn Schools Facebook link.
More information will be published as we learn it, the WUSD is aware of the result and will be publishing information on the next steps (for now nothing changes until the administrative notifications are published).
Congratulations to the community for passing this important measure and making our homes part of the WUSD.

Choice Blocks – Measure A on March 2, 2021 Ballot

On March 2, 2021, a special election is being held with Measure A on the ballot.

A YES on Measure A will transfer the Choice Blocks (the  area surrounded by  La Cienega, 138th, Inglewood and 142nd) from the Lawndale (TK-8th grade) and Centinela Valley (9-12th grade) districts into the Wiseburn Unified School District. No more permits, no more displacement, finally full-fledged district residents and community members!

We need your help to get the word out.   Tell your neighbors:

    1. We need a majority (51%) to pass the measure – that’s approximately 450 YES votes.
    2. Only Choice Block residents can vote on this measure.
    3. A majority YES vote will go into effect in July 2021.
    4. This is the final step to get our kids into WUSD permanently.
    5. Wiseburn Unified School District fully supports our transfer!
    6. Wiseburn Watch Board supports a YES on Measure A
